Simple Chicken Gravy
This simple gravy is both easy and delicious and will bring many meals to life. My family uses this gravy in a hole host of recipes, but is perfectly good on mashed potatoes.
Ingredients:
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 1/4 Cup Flour (add 1/2 Tbsp flour in increments if you wish a thicker gravy)
- 4 Cups Chicken Broth
- 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 Tbsp Minors Chicken Base for more flavor (optional)
Directions:
- Start by melting the butter in a saucepan on low to medium heat. (Make sure it is big enough for the broth.)
- Add your 1/4 cup of flour and whisk to make a roux, making sure to cook a little bit to get rid of the flour taste.
- Slowly add your chicken broth in 1 cup increments, whisking in between to make sure it is mixed well. (This is where you can add more flour if it is not thick enough.)
- Once your broth is all added, add black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Taste.
- Add in Minors Chicken base if you wish more flavor.
