Simple Chicken Gravy

This simple gravy is both easy and delicious and will bring many meals to life. My family uses this gravy in a hole host of recipes, but is perfectly good on mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Flour (add 1/2 Tbsp flour in increments if you wish a thicker gravy)
  • 4 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minors Chicken Base for more flavor (optional)

Directions:

  1. Start by melting the butter in a saucepan on low to medium heat. (Make sure it is big enough for the broth.)
  2. Add your 1/4 cup of flour and whisk to make a roux, making sure to cook a little bit to get rid of the flour taste.
  3. Slowly add your chicken broth in 1 cup increments, whisking in between to make sure it is mixed well. (This is where you can add more flour if it is not thick enough.)
  4. Once your broth is all added, add black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Taste.
  5. Add in Minors Chicken base if you wish more flavor.
  6. Enjoy!
