Simple Bourbon Shallot Garlic Bread

A simple and delicious side to any dish, especially lasagna.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Stick of Butter Softened (plus more for sautéing)
  • 1 Shallot Diced
  • 1 Tbsp Freshly Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Chopped Parsley
  • 1 Loaf Italian Bread
  • 1/2 Cup Bourbon

Directions:

Garlic Butter:

  1. Melt 1 Tbsp of butter (not from the stick) in a sauce pan over medium heat. Once melted add diced shallots. Cook until translucent about 5 minutes. (can go longer if you wish a darker color)
  2. Add bourbon and let it simmer for 6 minutes or until the liquid is all gone. Turn off heat and let cool.
  3. Once cool, add your shallot mixture, fresh garlic, and parsley to your softened butter and mix well.
  4. Put into a container and save for later or continue onto your bread.

Garlic Bread:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 Degrees Farehnheit.
  2. Cut your bread in half horizontally.
  3. Spread your mixture onto your bread. (Make sure it is softened)
  4. Bake on a foil lined baking sheet for 12 minutes.
  5. Let cool slightly and cut into pieces.
  6. Enjoy!
