Homemade Barbecue Sauce
This is the recipe for my own barbecue sauce. It has a lot of ingredients, but I hope you enjoy. This is a perfect pairing for ribs, brisket, pulled pork, pork chops, and so much more. I promise that the time is worth it and you will never go back to buying store bought barbecue sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Ketchup
- 1 Cup Bourbon or Scotch (I use Maker’s Mark for bourbon)
- 1/4 Cup Heinz Chili Sauce
- 1 Cup Water
- 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp of Apple Jelly
- 1/2 Cup Light Molasses
- 1/2 Tbsp Hot Sauce
- 1 Tsp Liquid Smoke
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp Spice Brown Mustard
- 1 Tsp Paprika
- 1/2 Tsp Smoked Paprika
- 2 Tsp Salt
- 1/4 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 2 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1/4 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Dried Mustard
- 1/4 Tsp Chili Powder
- 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Dried Minced Onion (can finely mince 1 whole onion as well)
- 4 Cloves Minced Garlic
Directions:
- Add all ingredients to a large enough pot and simmer for 1 hour. Let Cool.
