Blackened Chicken Bacon Ranch Smash Burger

This is one of my family’s favorite takes on the classic smash burger. Pairing a freshly ground chicken burger with ranch, crispy bacon, fresh tomato, and lettuce all on garlic toasted buns; this recipe is sure to be a favorite of yours too.

Chicken Burger Ingredients:

  • 1 – 1 1/2 Pounds Ground Chicken Breast
  • 1/4 Cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1Tbsp Blackened Seasoning
  • 1/2 Pound Bacon Cooked
  • 1 Tomato Sliced Thinly
  • Fresh Lettuce
  • Brioche Buns
  • Ranch

Garlic Butter:

  • 1/2 Stick Butter Softened
  • 4 Cloves Garlic Freshly Minced
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Parsley

Directions:

  1. I would recommend making the butter first and letting it sit in the fridge until you are ready to cook. Simply mix all of the butter ingredients in a small bowl and spoon into a small container. Put it into the fridge and when you are ready to cook, make sure you get it out about an hour before you need it so it can soften.
  2. Mix all of the chicken burger ingredients in a large bowl (ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, buttermilk, blackened seasoning, and garlic). Cover with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for 30 minutes or up to an hour.
  3. When you are ready to cook remove your chicken from the fridge and start to heat a medium to large skillet on medium heat. Prepare your chicken by separating it into equally sized balls. I was able to get 6, but make whatever you can.
  4. Once your skillet is hot, add a splash of oil (I recommend avocado oil because it has a higher smoke point) and place two of your chicken balls into the skillet. Using a spatula or a smash press, flatten your chicken into a thin patty (to prevent sticking, I would place either parchment paper or nonstick foil over your chicken then use the spatula or press on the paper or foil)
  5. Cook for 4 minutes then flip and cook for another 4. Repeat this process until all of your chicken is cooked through and set aside on a plate.
  6. Wipe your skillet clean and toast your buns with the garlic butter to your desired doneness.
  7. Build your chicken smash burger with lettuce, ranch, chicken, tomato, and bacon, and enjoy!
