Hey everyone, my name is Austen. I am a simple guy who loves learning new recipes. This blog focuses on my two passions, bourbon and cooking, hence the name. I first started learning to cook with my dad and mom when I was around 6 or 7 years old and in the past years, I have become the main cook in the house. As I was creating the meals every day of every week and since I was having a rough time trying to find a job after I graduated, I wondered if I should create a blog. Thus Bourbon and Cooking was born.
I will give a little info about the blog here just so you can be informed about what I will be posting. Mostly, I will be focusing on recipes that I learn or try to experiment with or just make every week for my family and friends. I will try to integrate bourbon into the recipes though won’t do it all the time. Dotted in between recipes will be bourbon reviews, cocktail recipes, and maybe even comparisons between bottles as I see fit. This will be for those who may not know a lot about a bottle of bourbon or may just want an in depth review about a bottle they saw at the liquor store before they buy it. I want to say that I am not a professional bourbon tester and will more focus on the beginners to the bourbon tasting field.
My goal for this blog is to show everyone that cooking at home can be fun and simple when you put in the work. None of my recipes will be too over the top and if I have one that takes some time, I will put a note above the recipe. I want people to learn how to cook at home because after working in a restaurant for over 3 years, I can promise you that anything cooked at home is better.
Now, I hope you will join me on my journey and maybe even learn to cook some new recipes to impress your family and friends, or yourself by cooking something you never thought you could.
So find a good bottle of your favorite bourbon, heat the stove, oven, or grill, and let’s get cooking!
